Download & print the application

Download the official Transport Malta Learner Permit application form (DRV002) and print it. Royal Motoring School can also send it to you on WhatsApp.

Fill in your details

Complete the section of the application that asks for your personal details.

Visit the doctor

Take the application form to your doctor. The doctor must complete and sign the medical section of the application.

Prepare 2 passport photos

You need 2 passport-size photos.

Meet Royal Motoring School

Meet with us at Royal Motoring School. We will:

✓Complete the Driving School section
✓Sign and stamp your application
✓Check that the application is correctly prepared
✓Collect the €100 Royal Motoring School fee

Go to Transport Malta

Once everything is completed, take the application together with all the required documents and photos to Transport Malta and submit your Learner Permit application.

Receive your Learner Permit

Your Learner Permit should normally arrive by post within about 2 weeks. Alternatively, Transport Malta will tell you if you need to collect it from them directly.

Register on the Royal Motoring App

Register on the Royal Motoring App — Powered by Insuq. Use it to book lessons, study theory and follow your progress.
